Andalucía in southern Spain is one of those amazing places where you can go from skiing in the morning to swimming in warm mediterranean sea in the afternoon. While I have never done that combination in a day, I had a chance to experience both on separate occasions. Sierra Nevada is a mountain range in the provinces of Granada and Almería. It contains the highest point of continental Spain, El Mulhacén at 3,478 metres (11,411 ft) above sea level and the skiing season lasts up until May.
